GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
Today we are going to learn to use the Past Perfect Tense.
THE PAST PERFECT TENSE = El PRETÉRITO PLUSCUAMPERFECTO
El uso de Past Perfect tense es similar al del Pretérito Pluscuamperfecto de Indicativo en español.
El Pretérito Pluscuamperfecto se usa para referirse a una acción pasada anterior a otra acción también pasada. Por ejemplo:
-Cuando llegué a casa, tú ya habías comido. - When I came home, you had already eaten.
-Vosotros habíais ordenado vuestra habitación cuando llegó vuestra madre. - You had tidied up your room when your Mum came.
In English it's even easier as you always use the same auxiliary verb had.

WHEN TO USE THE PAST PERFECT TENSE
- The Past Perfect expresses the idea that something occurred before another action in the past.
- It can also show that something happened before a specific time in the past.
LOOK AT THESE EXAMPLES. WHICH ACTION HAPPENED FIRST?
1 action (Past Perfect) 2 action (Past Simple)
1. I had studied English before I moved to New York.
2. John had gone out when I arrived in the office. (John wasn't in the office when I arrived)
3. I had saved my document before the compture crashed.
4. He was very tired because he hadn't slept well.
5. When I got to the airport, the plane had left
6. When we had loaded the van, Dad drove it to the new house.
