Let's start by analysing the results of the ALPHABET QUIZ. Most of you failed the question about "Spanish head of state". Let's make it clear once and for all:The monarch, at present Felipe VI, is the HEAD of STATE.
The president, at present Pedro Sánchez, is the HEAD of GOVERNMENT and belongs to the Executive branch of power.
Today we're going to keep on learning about some more things that Spanish Constitution establihes in its articles.
So, the Constitution establishes in the article 1.3 that Spain is a Parliamentary monarchy. (click on the image to enlarge it)
Monarchy is a form of government in which a king or a queen is the head of state.
Do you remember that there can be an absolute monarchy and a parliamentary monarchy?
Can you tell me the difference between these two forms of government?
