Today we're going to learn about the most important mountain ranges and plains in Europe.
Look at this Europe Physical map and locate:

- Pyrenees, Alps, Apennines, Carpathians, Balkan Mountains,  Caucasus, Ural Mountains,  Scandinavian Mountains. 
- North European Plain and East European Plain.

The Alps are the most important mountain range in Europe. They stretch across the eight countries, from Austria and Slovenia in the east, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Germany and France in the west and Italy and Monaco in the south. It's highest mountain is Mont Blanc, at 4810 m.

The Pyrenees form a natural border between France and Spain. 

The Apennines run down the middle of the Italian Peninsula.

The Carpathian Mountains are the second-longest mountain range in Europe. They home to more than half of the world's population of brown bears. Bears are taken from there to reinforce endangered bear population in Spain  and France.

 The Caucasus is a mounttain range between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. It includes Mount Elbrus, the highest mountain in Europe. It's 5642 m. high.

The Urals from a natural border between Europe and Asia. They are Europe's longest mountain range. Watch this Video and enjoy its beauty:

The Scandinavian Mountains are on the Scandinavian peninsula in the north of Europe. They are one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. They form a natural border between Norway and Sweden.
